this game is THIRTEEN years old... also, probably need to start a petition..
is this another game where the developers released on STEAM and added supposed 'HD' to it to make a buck on the same game from 13 years ago?

It is now on BOTH Steam and GOG, so more people have access again but it still has same graphics as the original game as far as I see.

There is absolutely no need for a trainer for this game. Use the editor (posted here on CH) that's been around since forever to make a few key edits to the side you mean to play.
In particular, disable the opposing faction from building advanced production facilities and make all your faction's ships/troops dirt cheap and you're golden. You can also insanely buff your characters and spec forces for easy missions.
In humanity's defense, we have been left unsupervised.
