I'd give (most of) it back. I might keep a little for myself. But I'd rather not have an extra 100k in my house when the IRS comes knocking.

Do they still allow giving 50k to your partner without being touched with TAX on it?

Dont get me wrong in my current financial situation I would have kept it with a lot of remorse but if I was wealthy I probably would'nt even buy that piece of crap..

IRS can't do squiggly if you deposit it in <$10k chunks.

But I wouldn't have kept it... the original owners of the desk clearly either didn't need it, since they forgot it, or they didn't know it was there... which means it wasn't theirs.

for me I have always said people who lose large amounts of CASH do not deserve to get it back, Why because they could afford to lose it in the first place.

I agree. $100.000 and you forget about them? Really?

I would have bought myself a new PC, paid for drivers ed, bought a new car etc.

Don't know about you, but I'm not interested in any sex changes.
