I'm running windows 8 64-bit. Trying to run trainer for Test Drive Unlimited 2 which says it is compatible.
Every time I try to run the trainer it crashes as soon as it tries to authenticate. I've tried running it with the offline key in the folder and that does not help. I've re-downloaded the trainer 3 times.
I've tried adding it to the exceptions for Comodo and disabling it all together. Windows firewall and defender is turned off. I have no other AV software. The game is NOT running per the trainer's instructions. Running as administrator does not help nor putting it into compatibility mode for windows xp, vista, or 7. I've rebooted my computer as well.
I'm not sure what else to do.
Edit: Actually this is not specific to TDU2 trainer. My other trainers are doing it as well. I don't understand, this didn't use to be a problem before...Is there a port I should open? Only thing I can think of that changed it the router I'm using
Comodo's Defender Plus is far too intrusive to be taken seriously and it never deactivates even if you disable the firewall. It has had some extremely severe issues with certain games as well. If you're a PC gamer, you will have to consider something other than Comodo.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your bitterness, I will dispel
I've never had issues with Comodo before. Usually I just hit allow the application and its fine. Regardless, I've uninstalled it and restarted. However, it is still crashing at authentication. I don't understand how this could be an issue considering I've got the offline authentication file in the folder. It shouldn't even matter if a firewall is blocking it, should it?
I wasn't actually, but it still didn't work. It actually crashed faster. Usually there would be a little hesitation. I'm assuming that was the latency time between hitting the servers to authenticate. Now since it doesn't go out it just fails immediately.
Some trainers aren't updated for windows 8, not sure which one you have tried (except TDU2). But crashing sounds strange, I read you're using Comodo, have you tried to uninstall it?
