ME4 should be about the rachni defending off the krogan horde and the classic class love struggle between a simple broodling and the queen ohh the drama

It's not so bad... You know you're going to lose the war, all your fellow, er, bugs, die around you, and all you have in terms of weaponry is, just like your fellow bugs, a whole bunch of tentac...

I think if/when they make ME4 they need to move forward and not do a game based on the first contact war or any of the other past events. Those stories have all been told in game and from other media. I dont see the fun in playing a game where you know how exactly it will end. I hope they can find a way to move past the ending of ME3 so that ME4 wont be a jumbled mess. If that means the game has to take place 100, 200, 1000 years in the future, then so be it. I would also like them to keep the formula that has worked for them and not change the game into a FPS with no rpg elements and only a basic story. I dont mean they couldnt innovate and improve upon whats made them successful, I just dont want to see Battle Effect.
What would be even worse than a FPS, would be a short story single player with a primary focus on the multi-player. I was actually shocked that they even incorporated a multi-player into ME3. The fact that they made it a requirement to increase galactic readiness was even more annoying. Years ago, before I had children and the like, I was able to get into multi-player games and increase my stats to become competitive. Nowadays, I personally do not have the time to invest in that scene, and only derive my enjoyment from the single player campaigns. As long as they utilize a strong story line in a single player campaign, I am certain that they can choose whatever backdrop for ME4 and I will enjoy it.
could end up being bioware's next failed MMO. hopefully the world ends before that happens but it is entirely possible... i mean *everyone's doin it right?*. MMO's have become the herpes of the video game world, so it wouldn't surprise me if it spread to another great bioware game after ruining the KOTOR name and lore.
I agree 100% with dstates summary of the MMO situation for me there are far to many trying to make a kill for your money and that spoils at time a GREAT game.
