The patch isn't a "beta", the method to apply it to the game just happens to use the beta test patch screen. They had to use this to get the game off Games for Windows Live and put it on Steamworks. There isn't going to be an official patch for the steamworks version that overwrites the retail version. This is an optional patch. But everyone is going to be using this "beta" patch because GFWL is dead.
if so why did the entire warhammer series and 2 or 3 other games simply patch normally on steam when THEY removed GFWL without all this stupid 'patch' nonsense?
Hey, sorry if this is a stupid question. But I updated to the beta patch for the steamworks integration and the trainer (the one that was just posted) says the game is not found. I ran it as administrator and my firewall is not blocking it, what can I do?
I am having the exact same problem. I am using the -dsptde-2.0- - Steam Build 2.0 version of the game but the new trainer Dark Souls - Trainer 2.0 (NO GFWL) can still not find the game.
the game is called
DARKSOULS.exe
if it is running.
otherwise you don't have admin privileges for the trainer
best,
Cal
Having the same issue. Says "Trainer cannot find game" even when being run in administrator mode and trying to start it at the load menu or in the game itself.
Also tried tabbing to the trainer to hit F1 in menu and in-game. Neither worked.
