Would say best shooter this month so far, but im going too have too say once bf3 hits the stores it is not the best shooter this month anymore.
Before the patch worst game ever for me after patch playable but still glitches but playable and the game looks good and water effect is nice as well, the engine needs some more patches but it does not seem too strain the pc that much the engine so im positive about its future.
At the moment it is a work in progress the new engine but it looks great in the game cant deny that, some bugs show up ingame but nothing game breaking for me, the constant crashes that happend before this patch was a game breaker glad it got fixed.
have not played many shooter games? LOL! i have! i have alot of games diff types. its a good shooter. i buy all the best games or ones that have a good review or which simply appeal to me. coz i mentioned this game rocks you diss me for it! Rage is definatly in there for one of best shooters at the moment.If we all liked the same things how boring it would be. so don't diss me coz you obeject.. each to there own. Best game i have played is between Assassin's creed Brotherhood and Mass Effect2. but im sure Battlefield3 will surpass all the expectations and finaly i get to play the great game again. loved bfbc2 so hoping this new one is as good. oh and the mention of Crisis game answer is yes.. i have both and crisis2 is one superior shooter loved it. another superb shooter.

I agree the game is average. Typical "ID" game. No story and it's linear with major graphical bugs. Only 3 variety of creatures to shoot at. The heavy armored slow moving humanoid then there is your fast moving lightly armored humanoid and lastly the crazy insane psycho mutant melee monsters like "zerg". Definitely not in my top 10 for GOTY.

your not getting dissed for liking rage we are disagreeing with your statement of 'best shooter yet' and even you have lowered your opinion of rage down to 'its a good shooter'and 'Rage is definatly in there for one of best shooters at the moment'
It's a decent shooter, with a good feel. Character design and animations work well, voice acting is great, and there is a primary storyline, even if a bit detached considering the varying severity of you being from an Ark. The weapons are nicely varied with the other ammo types filling in the gaps. Being able to create things on the fly is convenient and simple. Thankfully no silly inventory restrictions keeping you from having some other part necessary for the construction of something you use.
I'm still getting more of a Borderlands vibe overall. No, nothing to do with graphics and the like, and weapons certainly differ, but the general layout is very similar: Open world with townships and separate instanced zones, repeating classes of enemy creatures (though all humanoid in this so far), transportation is either running or using an armed vehicle in open zones, generic supply vendors, first person perspective only except in vehicles (required a hack in borderlands), and a voiceless character but open dialog from npcs. That's just off the top of my head, but just consider, Rage has more defined roads and routes where borderlands was just slightly more open (which was mostly pointless).
DEF best Shooter yet. Lovin this!
