The shorter times it takes to complete also helps people, like me, who have short attention spans. Currently, I am playing GTA IV, LA Noire, and Red Dead Redemption, which are all pretty long games, and I still haven't beaten them after playing them for a couple weeks each. My short attention span stops me from playing them for more than a couple hours or so before I get bored. The shorter times kind of helps me get through the game in a reasonable amount of time.
shouldnt the fact it has taken over a fortnight and you still havent beaten them mean you got your moneys worth, not getting ripped off because you couldnt finish it in one day because nothing gets my goat more than a one day game
I agree there does seem to be more emphasis on pretty pictures rather than substance and play time. It takes a lot of time money and personal to make those graphic intensive games and because the current trend seems to sway toward shock value impact on your senses, quantity and substance does seems to take second place. the popular final fantasy games for instance recently have become more linear because of the amount of time money and energy put into the special effects instead. although that series has always been focused on the story rather than how linear the game is it still it makes for a shorter story.

Yes, but what I'm saying is that if tgose games were any longer, it would take people like me months to beat a game. And by then I would be way behind on the discussions about the gamr.
what actually counts is the experience u've had from the game u've been playing. that is what's truly important. debating about the game being too short or too long is quite irrelevant in my opinion. its all about being entertained. u could be entertained by playing a game that barely lasts 4 hours or u could be bored to death by a game that lasts u about 10 to 14 hours or the other way round.
