Android, just as long as it's an open phone. If it's something like a DX I absolutely abhor the platform, but grab a Nexus or Incredible and it blows anything else out of the water, imo.

I have a Droid X and I LOVE it. Idk, I guess I'm not too concerned about the technical aspects of it, I just want it to run and run what I want it to.
I really want to switch to an Android phone. I have an iTouch, and don't really need it with a phone built into it. I currently have a Nokia e63 so I'm running on Symbian. I'm not a big fan of it. It's rather slow, the media centre is garbage (i loaded music onto it once, tried updating it, and now it doesn't even work. ) and I can't find the programs used to mod it. I dislike the need of every app needing to be signed, and I want a text message centre that shows my messages in a conversation view. And I believe that Blackberry's are for big business people. They have everything and the kitchen sink on them. I don't understand why everyone loves them.

It's got great specs on paper, but it's hacking community is nearly nonexistent due to its locked status. Motoblur is the devil's spawn, and it is only recently that CyanogenMod 7 was released. Put that on and the phone is great, but honestly, anything else is terrible.

Seconded. Samsung has supported 3rd party developers since the launch of the phone, with a full-fledged CM7 ROM out already, and most likely a MIUI port in the near future.
When the (codenamed) Nexus Prime releases, that will be the phone to get. The Nexus S (4G or not) is still a fantastic phone, and will run smoother than a majority of the dual-core phones on the market today.
