i dont usely buy the machine guns i just find them in the game. like in some points in the game you will find the guns while yopu are in some fights with hard enemys.
What he means is not to bother upgrading the machine guns. using machine guns in the first run is a waste time and a huge waste of ammo! the steady-aimed with less recoil guns deal too little damage while the strongest AK-47 (47, right?), which deals more than 200, recoil too much.
In the first run you may need to use only handgun, aim for critical points, don't shoot them dead, instead use melee attacks. those fetch a good amount of damage, enough to kill a town majini,maybe many in a crowd. Only use heavy guns on the tough semi bosses and bosses. with some major bosses I think just stocking up some rocket launcher and you'll make it out well. there's a free rocket on a sinking ship in the first marshland stage. stock up a few rocket to make the game go smoother.
