It's very confusing. I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know what to play. A newbie requests assistance.

You can access most of the functions using the center Xbox button on your controller. It's the easiest way to access your friends, messages, parties, and achievements.

Anyway, as SS said alot is accesed through the xbox guide button, I reccomend just popping in a game and playing online, its easy enough to make friends on there (you can also add people from CHU to help you.)
xbox live is real easy once you get the hang of it. Parties, Friends, MSN, Mesasges can all be accessed through the "Xbox Guide" Games, Videos, Troubleshooting, Marketplace, Friends, Upcoming Events, etc, can all be accessed directly off of the dashboard.
If you need any help at all figuring anything out, fell free to ask. I or anyone else on here would be willing (i'm sure) to help with any questions you have.

When I tried it last year it somehow used my old display names so I ended up with one saying happy birthday to someone who had a birthday over a month before.
And since I don't have one of those controller keyboard attachments when I got a message from someone it took a million years just to say "On LIVE, can't talk" so I just removed my password and I haven't used it again.
