the review is so spot on. There's one thing the reviewer failed to mention as an obvious way to explain some similarities between Mass Effect and AP. Obsidian has very close ties with Bioware as the developer of Kotor2 and NWN2.
They are also the developer of Fallout: New Vegas. Let's hope they diverted resources from AP to work on F:NV
Even with all the bad reviews I still had fun playing the game. As a Wise man said if you think you can do better make your own game. Also one has to remember there not bioware and made the game on a smaller budget.I seem to recall it being around 5 million compared to 100 million some company's spend.
I can understand some of the bad reviews, but I still loved playing this game, and even playing through it again trying to get the results of having really bad rep (Some are hilarious, knocked over the head with a lamp anyone?).

Yeah, that's the weird thing though...I basically agree with all the bad reviews...it just didn't ruin the game for me...I still enjoyed it and I'm playing it through again, despite it's flaws...and I'll probably play it through AGAIN if/when they fix at least MOST of the bugs...

You know, I've posted to almost all these reviews and I often wonder if I'm playing the same game as the reviewers. I had a pretty good time with the game. Sure there was some niggling issues with design choices, most importantly the lack luster save system, but regardless I still had fun. Also take a look on youtube for alpha protocol endings and you'll see very different things than your play through.
For example: Spoiler:
The reporter was apparently President Sun's assassin. I didn't see this or have any clue the way I played, but apparently how you played the game and spoke to her you would get a different outcome.
I thought this was amazing and it blew my mind. The best insight I can offer is, don't necessarily trust reviewers on games that sound interesting to you. Give it a rent if you can or wait for it to come down in price. My only disappointment is that now we probably won't see a fully fleshed out sequel to this game.
