The dictionary informs me that it has something to do with, a novel or other prose narrative depicting heroic or marvelous deeds, pageantry, romantic exploits, etc., usually in a historical or imaginary setting. However, I'm not a big fan of that.
It's probably a mistake asking you people to discuss this issue since the majority of you are robots or delusional and will probably try to seriously submit something relating to a Disney film or something.
Yes, yes, I'm sure you're very happy with the person you are with, I'm sure you have little pet names which are just adorable and fantastic. I bet you plan your wedding and talk about children while laying together on your bed (or looking at each other on a webcam). That's all fascinating and no one is instantly bored while listening to your tearjerking sentiments but, I don't want that here. I want people to actually talk about romance from a subjective perspective, pretend you are an alien.
I obviously have my opinions and theories but, I want to hear yours first.
Make me proud.
As with any thing that grants a person full control over how they define and express understanding, poor settings can and will be applied with disastrous results.
Therefore, like Neo said, romance is an expression of love. It could be as simple as saying "I love you," or it could be something as expected as flowers on Valentines Day. Or it could even be something completely unexpected and extraordinary that you planned for your special someone.
