Civilized? Middle East?

How can those words go in the same sentence when wife beating is encouraged, killing unmarried non-virgins, and other such bass-ackwards bovine feces is commonplace as PDA is in American highschools?

When Public Displays of Affection are illegal, any semblance of that area being a civilized area becomes a moot point.

And Alcohol is one of many basic human luxuries. Sure it's not needed, but it's a luxury that society can't do without nowadays. Not to mention that cooking heroin is a common job for Islamic radicals. A moral objection to liquor while refining a deadly narcotic? Makes absolutely no sense.

The only way the middle east will become civilized is if we can uplift them out of the dark ages of their society. Their society is built on sexism, violence, wanton murder, and bigotry.

As for the couple being arrested and convicted, it's complete and utter bull****. How is a couple supposed to go to dinner and NOT hold hands/kiss/etc.? Public indecency is whipping out your package in the middle of the street and screaming "My Bratwurst brings all the girls to the yard, that's right, it's bigger than yours, that's right, it's bigger than yours!", or flashing your breasts at a passing police officer and screaming "Aren't you sad your wife can't give you this?".

Seriously, the one civilized place in the Middle East in terms of religion and self-control is Israel, though that's not to say the people over in the middle east are bad/compliant with the way of things, it's just a generalization of how the majority of their society works based on Islamic "law".
