Man, I supported the Earth hour and I didn't even know it didn't make a difference to the environment.

I was a supporter of Earth Hour a time ago, but a little more studies into Physics and a better sense of perspective in relation to how the world works has changed my mind.
We may have reduced carbon emissions by 1% last night but we've sure as hell made up for that now.
It's almost hypocritical for the reasons Dhampy's already mentioned. Unless power stations worldwide shut down, it makes no sense whatsoever. A byproduct of the [largely fallable] influence of Al Gore... or any other active eco-mentalist.
I liked the myspace gas protests; "Don't buy gas on this day, and anticipate not buying gas on this day by buying it the day before."
Those are beyond pointless. Do they even think before coming up with an idea like that? So no one buys gas for a day, the gas stations will just make all that money back the next day. They know we literally can't do anything without the gas, if you don't buy it one day you will buy it another day.
