The two biggest uniforming mistakes the US military has ever made are in this order: 1. The beret 2. trying to dye Red British uniforms to Blue, and coming up with poop brown colored uniforms, and still issuing them.

With Dress uniform I would rather wear a beret just because compared to a garrison it looks better. Utilities and Field uniform i would rather wear patrol cap because it protects head from sun, doesnt trap as much heat in as the black beret does.
