My game has played flawlessly anyways. I think that I will just wait until the new trainer comes out before I update.

If anyone edited their coalesce.ini file, back it up before updating, or you'll have to edit everything again.

The new trainer is working perfectly so far, thanks for the usual speed and quality.

I noticed that some of the changes I had made didn't stick after the patch.

I haven't tried re-editing or copying my modified version (I made a backup) over again yet. Haven't had time to play more than a couple mins just to check if the patch fixed a prob I was having.

Will bringing back my modified coalesce.ini bring back my changes again? Or is there a new checksum introduced by chance?

From what I know the patch will overwrite your coalesced.ini file with the oiginal unmodified version. You'll have to re-do all the changes you made, or replace it if you backed up a modified version.

Does anyone know what the "f" after certain values denotes?

Also, since the patch, having re-written all of my edits, it appears to be acting fairly selectively about some of the gun stats that it's using from my Coalesced.ini - for example, it takes my custom ammo reserve count for a weapon fine, but not the clip size anymore. Edited damage fine, but not the crosshair or accuracy variables. Anyone got a crystal ball they'd care to lend me?

Edit: It appears that Ensaine may be having the same problem?

I don't know this for certain, but it's possibly a hex value. In hex F = 15. It doesn't really make much sense... but I dunno what else it could possibly be. Maybe just a certain value type BW likes to use? I dunno.

Of course, I could be completely wrong... I haven't paid much attention to it to be honest.

Thanks, pretty sure it's not hex though. I've seen it a lot around UE3 config files. For example, some entries may be "blah=1.0" and another might be "bleh=1.0f". It's used inconsistently across multiple variables of the same name for different classes in Coalesced.ini - ie, most weapons have "Damage=(X=5,Y=5)", but the two heavy pistols have "Damage=(X=5f,Y=5f)". Also, some accuracy values are suffixed by "f", others are not - mixed even within the same class.

This is going to turn out to be something stupidly easy, ain't it?
