That cunning Bioware, has only enabled one storyline from the start of ME2.

    BUT....

If you have ME1 and a saved character it will load it and carry on the story as you left it.

Sounds like a ploy to make people buy ME1 also :P

Good thing I have the first one. I'm presuming there isn't any difference between the two storylines other than the fact that you are continuing the story and will know more about the plot of the first.

    Ayy lmao

    That`s far from the truth.
ME1 savegame can have a major impact on the storyline.

I`m not sure about that thing about one storyline, but I wouldn`t be surprised if that turned out to be true.
Don`t blame the player if you can`t play the game!

With ME2, yes your ME1 savegame can impact the story of ME2 but...

You are asked a series of questions at the beginning that also impacts the story, so either way you don't need to use your save game...

I still have my ME1 but I didn't keep the saved game when I uninstalled it.There is no way I'm going replay the whole game over.

Yeah having a save game at the end of the game will definitely have a huge impact on the story.

If you completed everything in the first Mass Effect a few character's at the beginning of the game ask you a series of questions about what you did in the first game and if by chance you answer wrong they correct you and tell you what really happened.

If you don't have a save game or at least one at the final boss with every side mission completed. You will be asked a series of questions still and you have to be careful cause whatever answer you pick will become fact and shape most of the story and character's you experience in the game.

I dont know how it works completely, but from what ive read on the net on preview sites etc, the story starts off normally as you saved the citadel but let the council die and Aiden was the one left behind in the nuclear explosion.

But if you use a saved profile from ME1, where you let the council live, and Wrex lives and you sent Ash to her death. Then the start changes accordingly.

Interesting, apparently the metals you collected etc come into play also in ME2, as does medals and so forth.
