I'm pretty clueless when it comes to cars, and right now I'm pretty ****ed.

I was heading home, it took me about an hour. Everything was fine, car started fine. Though I was a little low on gas. I arrived home, and it was near empty, but I said to myself, I'll go to my place first then I'll go put some gas while I'm going to the store.

So I'm on my way to the store, but the car wouldn't start. At first, I thought, the cars empty. So I went and got some gas, filled the tank. But it still won't start. And basically I know nothing about cars, and don't know what else to check.

And on a side note, my cellphone is dead, and all my roommates haven't arrived yet.

Also everything else seems to work fine, battery's okay, lights/radio turn on. But the car won't star.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

If your tank was really low, you could have gotten some moisture in the gas line and then it froze. It's common in the winter.

You should never let your gas tank sit at below about a 1/4 tank, just in case.

I stopped the car nearly 5 minutes to go up to my apartment, get some things, and then leave to the store. I don't think it would of frozen that fast and it's not that cold outside

Or maybe you're simply out of gas and the gauge is incorrect.

As I said, I went to the gas station, got gas, and filled the car up. Still won't start

I read that, but it didn't register.

Ok, what sound does it make when you try to start the car?

I would guess your problem is the alternator or starter.

I'm no car guy, but I have owned a car for over a decade and I've had to replace one of the two a half dozen times.

To me, if the engine won't turn--that means one of those two.
