Does anyone know why the trainers won't work on Steam...
because valve updates l4d2 all the time and cheathappens doesnt feel like updating their trainer all the freaking time. they have officially set a weeks delay on trainer updates for l4d2 so that if valve can go one week without updating their game then the trainer will be updated... every game update resets the time

As they meet, one man looks at the other knowingly, points to his foot and says, Vietnam, 1969."
The other points his thumb behind him and says, "Dog crap, 20 feet back."
Ya, but they'll take their time. As mentioned by PWizard. Personally can't blame them. It's a pain to re-release stuff I'm sure. Especially on a holiday week.

As I've said here, and in that thread, I can't blame them. Take the rest of the week off CH staff!

Wonderful. The whole reason I paid for a membership was so I could have relatively new trainers for newer games. Yeah, Steam updates constantly, which means that L4D2 will go for long periods without a functional trainer.
This really changes my thoughts on resubscribing or going to Lifetime.

They have a business to run. If they aren't updating L4D2's trainer every three hours, they have more time to work on other trainers, manage UNL accounts, and keep the site running.
It may hurt people who subscribe for one game, but the rest of the site keeps going strong.

Since the 12/18 update leaves us without any SP trainer, is there anyone that has been able to get the dev console cheats to work on SP? "sv_cheats 1" gives a cryptic "create a local server" message which can't be accomplished in SP mode. Any ideas?
