English and German are cousins. If you can speak one, the other comes easy.
The chief difference is that English is almost entirely Subject-Verb-Object and occasionally Object-Subject-Verb in future tense.
While German is also mostly SVO, it has a lot more OSV and also throws in OVS to confuse people who don't pay attention.

I showed this thread to my friend who speaks German.
She was insulted by the poor grammer. Her exact words: "I spent ages learning proper grammer and these people just trashed over it".
Also, she questioned shianova's post with "Is he trying to say he likes playing with himself?"
