how on earth do i get the saved game up?? i start ac and there is no save game at that point.

Just download the full save game, and buy yourself a new version of Assassin Creed, the old one (pre-release one) crashed upon entering the outskirts of Jerusalem, in "the old version" every time when you enter Jerusalem the game will crash, so I suggest buying, (downloading), the new version....
