Russia to this day has never been to the moon.. I'm undecided on the whole moon landing conspiracy theory it seems unlikely you could keep the 1000s of people who work at NASA to keep it hushed up for so long though.

Russian people have never been to the moon. However, they both reached it first and landed non-manned vehicles first.

In July of 1958, when NASA was created, if you were to ask someone who would reach the moon first, 100% of people would have chosen the Russians.

The Soviets were looking at manned space exploration since the 1930s and were working on going to the moon through much of the time. If not for WWII, Russia would probably have landed on the moon in the '40s.

Whereas the US space program spontaneously emerged from various Air Force programs aimed at making faster terrestrial aircraft.

In 1969, when man landed on the moon, the Russians had been working to that end for close to forty years. The US had been working for less than 11 years.

It should be of no surprise whatsoever that people disbelieve it.

In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

Personally, I'm still undecided on the topic of the moon landing.

I've argued for both sides, and I understand both sides of the debate, but neither side has any conclusive evidence. It's always either "NASA told me so" or "America lied to beat the Russians."

However, finding water is a big step forward in space travel.

So the romantic folk are now able to take water from the moon to recieve love?

Either way, it doesn't surpise me. The moon has mass, and therefore gravity. Kinda figures that there could be water there, since it would pull in the molecules.

Seriously, the moon is old news. I want new info on Mars! Like, when are we all moving there? *glares at NASA*

A lot of technology taken from the V2's was used for space rockets so wouldn't landing on the moon be reliant on WWII taking place?

Not really. The Russians took practically nothing from the German V program--they already had the technology. They launched their first liquid-fueled space-capable rockets in 1933. All the captured V-2 designs gave them was a little refinement on the concept.

In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

Water was already found on the moon. This just shows that there is a lot of water, more than people thought there was.
