I have the D2D version. It's hard to make a mistake about which version I'm supposed to download. I've performed several tests and can't seem to get the trainer to work after installing Return to Osagar (or however you spell it). It did work previously, but it has been a couple months since I've played at all, so it could be a patch or the Ostragar addon.
I've walked through the debugging steps for each pass and have even tried downloading the retail version instead. The retail version says all the right things, like "Trainer Enabled", "off", "on", etc., but does nothing. The Steam/D2D version does the same, except that it crashes the game about 40% of the time after trying to apply gold or whatever. I found another site that enables a gold cheat (www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/dragonage/hints.html), so I'm not crippled, but it would be nice to get an updated trainer that works.
For the D2D version. Try to update ur graphic card. It worked for me

I received a update via steam, since the trainer doesn't work anymore. Press F1 at main-menu - sounds Trainer activated, after start 'new game' the game crashed.
Will be a update available for the latest Version? File: DAOrigins.exe Fileversion: 1.3.11253.0 Productversion: 1.0.3.11253.0
the game has just had a big patch on steam so it might need a new trainer, gonna test the Steam patch 3 trainer too see if it works still though.
Just when was the game patched? In the launcher I still get the "1.03 Patch is now available!" (and have got for quite some time), and I have the 1.03 retail version.
