Run Services.msc and search for : Dragon Age Origins - Content Updater , if its not running run it. It seems there is a problem with the Windows7. Hope this helped
Edit: First start game then start the Content updater. You need to do this every time when loading a savegame with the dlc items.
As I said, they are tied to your bioware account, you have to register them via your account online, then you can use them.
Your wrong i've paid for the DLC as have many many others and downloaded legally. EA and Bioware say theyre trying to fix this problem which means **** everyone who paid and cant see the map markers. I have a valid EA account, it says its authorised, its checked, and yet still nothing. Everything works besides the point where it tries to add a marker to the map.
But did you register the serial's for your DLC content in your account at Bioware?
If they are not listed on the account then you cant activate the DLC.
Most people who had the problem at Bioware forums had to do this. Others it was a problem with the updater software. Others had problems downloading the DLC content.
So yes, the DLC for Warden and Prisoner have to be ON YOUR ACCOUNT.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great site for new games with constant deals
-Start the game -Check for dlc(be sure you're logged in) -alt tab -run services.msc and start content updater even if it's already running -alt tab back into the game, stuff should be showing. it worked for me.

Well Dab, I have to say - I did activate the dlc on the account and it's all legal and everything and still doesn't work - I'm just going to try my luck with a full refund for the DLC - it was a waste of cash and a lost cause it seem's.
