All the good games come out in the 4th quarter of every year.
Which is quite ironic - the game companies try to compete for the holiday gift money of people, yet if they were to release a damn good game in summer-early spring they wouldn't have any competition at all, and people most likely wouldn't have any fairly new games to play, so that could be just as good a choice, market strategy wise.
