After playing through what's available of The Parish, I have to say it's more than I expected. The variety of weapons is a little overwhelming at first, but each has its own strengths and weaknesses.

The new SI are a little hard to make out at first, learning their cues and individual sounds, but using them in the right combination is devastating to the survivors.

The AI are smarter, at least in the SI context. They seem to have tactics. For instance, this happened in a game I was just playing.

1.) A boomer covered the survivors.
2.) A spitter spat at a wall where no survivors were standing.
3.) A charger ran over the one uncovered survivor, running him into the wall where the spitter's bile was sizzling (this incapped the player, as someone had killed the charger before he could kill Ellis.)
4.) A smoker constricted one survivor and Big Dragged him across a park.
5.) The boomer had been killed, allowing room for another SI. This was a jockey. He jumped on someone and ran his ass away.

Anyway, we managed to survive. The incapped guy killed the boomer, and a standing survivor was able to kill the spitter. The standing guy (Coach) helped Ellis up, and then sniped the smoker (just a little too late, Rochelle was dead.) Ellis ran and melee'd the charger off of Nick, and blasted it with a shotgun. Nick was incapped, but Ellis helped him up, and healed him. When I wasn't watching, I guess Coach used paddles on Rochelle; she was back up and doing fine. The next attack killed incapped Ellis, though. A dose of pain pills and he was fine. We made it to the next safe room after dealing with the Wandering Witch. And then the demo ended.

It's by no means perfect, and the SB's are kinda retarded, sometimes just holding a melee weapon and not ****ing using it.

If you're wondering whether you should buy this game, let me ask you this.

In Left4Dead 2, you can beat a zombie to death with a guitar. What the **** else do you want!?

I like using the machete, and the assault rifle with 3 shot burst. Also the magnum has some nice power, but you really got to place your shots with it.

Also 'story' wise its quite interesting. The idea behind carriers who are immune, but spread the disease. Also the check point where you got to lock the doors, before turning off the alarm has a bit of micro story. The bodies laying around the entrance seem like they where normal people when they where gunned down. Also away from the bodies there was a person who looked like she was trying to run away.

So its a interesting dynamic to see whats going on during the disaster, and how its being handled.

Has anyone managed to cr0wn the Wandering Witch yet? I've already been ****ing around with the Dev Console, and tried each shotgun. They don't startle her if you shoot her in the head, and the second blast kills, but I haven't managed to do it in one shot. Also, look through the Dev list using the give [item] command. There's some pretty awesome things, including a vial filled with boomer vomit.

The vial with some boomer goo I got in-game

The game ROCKED at first but then I was kinda disappointed when there was this... white pixel mist... if you know what I mean (kinda like ant wars on your TV when you don't have a signal, but they weren't moving...)

    So..

GFX: I maxed EVERYTHING out on my XFX Radeon 4870 XXX and 24" 1080p screen

Is was cool, still the usual things that isn't doable right not with the tech we have. For example the zombies can still "be inside" each other when they climb ledges.

I recon this is a buyable game, for sure! as long as you've got the right hardware
