Hi,

I recently started to play this game again now that the Community Patch 1.7 and 1.71 is available. I am using the CP 1.72 tat combines both 1.7 and 1.71 into one patch. I am using Vista.

However, I really want to use the console, but I am having a few problems with it getting to work.

Firstly, I understand that the .ini file must be changed to have the testmode = true. I can change it, but I am unable to save the file with the change. I do not understand how to set administration rights to be able to save this file. I am the only user account for this computer and I am set as the Administrator. So, I do need with this first problem.

Secondly, I have read the Cheat FAQ 1.1 about the graphical error with the console. I understand about creating the _compiledImage folder and _Intern subfolder in the Data folder. However, these folders already exist after I installed the game. There is a _compiledImage folder (with _Intern subfolder) and a _Intern folder (on its own) in the Data folder. So, I also need clarification about this.

Thirdly, will the installation of the CP 1.72 patch affect any of this regarding the console to work?

I appreciate any help that can be given on these 3 points.

I got it to work!

You have to go to the Control Panel then to the Device Manager and go to Human Interface Devices and uninstall the infered thingy. It will reinstall everytime after you restart the comp. And after that it should work!

hey i need help n well i have looked at the post mentioning goin to control panel and i cant figure it out ..

i got gothic 3 V1.1
i tried to change the ini. file but didnt let me save
please help and with the marvin trick i tried but i went n pressed c and pressed s as well but still nothin so far ..

any help welcomed..

how did you get it to work?

download a program called ultra edit coz i got it saved using that program..

im usin v1.70 gothic and most of the codes dont work coz it sayz that i recieve 100000 gold in my inventory but doesnt show up dats the only problem now
