You need to build defenses on the river crossings. After that you should see other German units coming from the northern part of the map. You need to protect them while they are retreating.
I have the same issue. I played the mission for like 30 minutes. Then I wondered how long I am supposed to defend the freaking map. The enemies keep spawning.
What kind of defenses do I have to build? As far as I know you can't build MG Bunkers etc!?
It never ends! There is always the main mission: Stop the American Panzers but I have only seen respawning infantry.
What am I missing? Or is this a bug?

It is a bug.
If you do not have tanks attacking fairly strong near the beginning-middle then the scenerio is flawed and will never end. The scenerio actually goes fairly fast and ends quickly. You do not need to build defenses unless you want to. As in to protect the retreating forces for the medal.

The same question here. I finally finished the mission, but without the second objective completed. Which defense positions should I build? I put some my forces around the river crossings, but it does not help. Thanks.
