just played it,90 percent good fun manuvering and unlocking birds(jets i mean) and bad side is NO REALISM, AT ALL.free flight is good for practice.but totally IL2,warbirds III,red jets,... were twice more fun.
U talk about REALISM ? then let' see how ALL of that game could COMPETE with... ACE COMBAT series eh ? not many people want a REALISM when dog fighting with a jet plane cuz its mean... 1 simple little wrong move, voila... u are a big sitting duck waiting to be rocketed to oblivion in just few seconds then...
Especially if u fly with F - 22 Raptor, none want to play a REALISTIC game with others jets too !
Arcade style flight combat is the thing that make dog fighting using jets are much much more fun + thrilling + wonderful !
Since in modern warfare, u just need to push 1 button to blast all your enemy to death... so with realism, it will be completely sucks since your action will be so very very limited & its bore me!
That's why Ace Combat & Battlestation series... reigns !
They give still some realism yet the control + gameplay are pretty much like an arcade game... not many people wants to fly jet just to shoot 1 - 4 enemies, but they want to do some unrealistic acrobatic moves & shooting SO MANY ENEMIES...
realism would suck in this game, most jets only have 4 bars for missels and the your out and have to fly for for half a hour to get back to your airfield and refuel and rearm, also on some of the planes there would be no targeting system and there would be no 3rd person or HUD in many aircraft.

Realism will bore any CASUAL gamer to death & as u know... the market for CASUAL GAMER are FAR FAR FAR BIGGER BETTER & CRISPIER than game market for SIMULATOR GAMER !
With simple yet fun & easy to learn hard to master gameplay, anyone can play this game WITHOUT need to know how fast is F - 22 or how to maneuver using Berkut...
And in realism, some short burst can ended your game INSTANTLY & if u want to talk about realism, you shouldn't be allowed to come back to mission again since either u are death (so u even need to restart the CAMPAIGN) or you need to travel back from your parachute drop point first... more importantly, u will definitely need to allocated so much time reading the manual guide just to learn how to take off before learning how to make a move or how to activated your armament too instead of already playing it with your buddy
Not many people dedicated themselves to flying a jet in a sim game too in their life so they don't like wasting their time
Any combat simulator are pretty cool & good but they are DEFINITELY COMPLICATED & have a very deep learning step
