Both call of duty games are really made for online, their stories are pretty weak like most war games and their campaigns are remarkably short. They are still great games, but not if your looking for a long story driven fps like bioshok or the half life series. Farcry 2 has a decent story but I'm not sure if you want to spend at least 15 minutes walking/driving to and from each step of every mission. If they had like a teleport in that game it would take an hour to beat the story, but since there is so much darn traveling it literally takes like 12 hours plus mostly just traveling.

Thank you for suggesting Farcry2. I'll look into it. Some people do find traveling around boring. I'm old (only 43 actually), but I do like to back it down now and take my time through games. Some of my children love the quick defeat of all AI enemies and the glory of it all. That is cool too. I remember the thrill of quickly turning Asteroids over when the Atari 2600 came out when I was a teen. I bragged much to my friends that I was the first of us to do so. I'm at an age where I want to slow down and enjoy gaming as a relaxing thing. I'll go to my favorite game spots Gamestop and Amazon.com and see who can cut me the best deal on it. Appreciate your input!

Arhey, Thank you for your suggestions. I saw on your profile page that you are in Germany. I was in Augsburg from 1975-1979 with my dad while he was in the Army. And I graduated from Frankfurt American High while he was stationed there from 1982-1985. One of my wife's sisters was born there in Hann. Germany was fun while I was there. Has it changed much? My wife and I would like to take a military hop over there and check it out for the October-Fest in Nuremberg one of these years. I am a retired Navy vet, so we could easily get over there on Space-Available. She wants to see Paris too. We are also thinking about visiting England. I was in London for a week on vacation after I graduated high school. I know things over there must have changed since the eighties, but I hope not to the point of not being able to recognize things. Thanks again

6 posts in a row? New record... next time edit posts instead of adding new ones in consecutive order.

I'd recommend CoD4. It has an amazing storyline, but it's a bit short. CoD:WaW wasn't that great, even though it used the same game engine as CoD4. Not as much depth and it's just kind of a repeat of what CoD4 was.
Crysis is not much more than a stress-testing game, and it does a good job at it. Gameplay is good and bad and the story is decent I'd have to say. More for graphics than actual gaming. I liked it for a while, but then got bored of it.
Far Cry 2 is a pretty good release from Ubisoft, but there are some very annoying gameplay flaws. A humongous map with auto-respawning enemies and specific save locations can get on peoples' nerves after a while. I managed to bear along until I unlocked the second stage (second area to unlock), and even then, it took ridiculously long to get there.. The story itself was pretty good.
GTA IV is amazing, but I'd classify it more as a third-person action game. It's bound to appeal to some players, while not others.

@Dhampy:Im talking about the one for the Pc that was released in 2007 and Halo would have to have been released in 1995 if number 2 were to be released in 1998 and they werent good enough back then to make a game like that.

The Halo games were far behind the times in all regards even when they were released. They have muddy graphics and have zero story and antiquated gameplay.

Half-Life was released in 1998 and that game is not only prettier than both Halo games which have been released for PC, but is the standard by which story and gameplay are still judged.

Halo are console games, and let them stay that way. They are not worthy of the PC or PC gamers.

In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

The only real difference between the the one on the Xbox and the one on the PC is that there are differnt controls but i agree with you anyway.
