The best thing to do might be to get to the same place for two difficulty levels, then copy the save file for the first difficulty and compare it to the save file for the second difficulty.

First you have to decode the file, either using the decoder I included with the editor (if you are using 2.31 or 2.34) or a decoder for an earlier version (i'm not sure where to find this). After you decode the file, you have to open it with a hex editor. I use XVI32. The file, in this form, will be a long set of numbers and letters like this 08ABFD17... After backing up both save games. look for any differences between the two and then try changing things that are different. Only change one thing at a time, though, other wise you wont know what worked and what didn't. Most of these changes might screw up your savegame, however, which is why you should back it up first.

hello, I must be blind or dumb, but so far, my savegame file has been edited and since it hasnt been encoded again, the game still see the un-modified version. So could you tell me how to "encode" again the savegame file after it has been edited with your editor please (which has cool editing options by the way ) so i can play with my edited savegame. thanks a lot
EDIT: it seems to work only when you level up... sorry to have bothered you

Using DescendJS source code I made some modifications to simplify the editing process... Looking how to edit the spells level and dificulty unlock too(For this i would need some sample savegames with the dificulty already unlocked...i havent played much.. )
