Is there a way to make/use infantry units in the civilized mode? I don't like using just tanks/airplanes/boats. Also, is there a way to go back into 3rd person like in creature stage or are you limited to tactical battle style in tribal,civ, and space modes?

no there is not .u cant use third person after the second stage .
and u cant u just have to choose once

Agreed. The game is limited on options as far as viewpoints. Sorry.
