Maybe you can open bnry format? this can be very good scripts to rewrite game config. All .prop files are place holders... but scripts work, for example script planet generation works... not properties. Bnry - it just unknow file-format for game, its for example cnv files or cpp. We just must open it. Use customsims3 site for more information about game files. Sorry for my bad english.

So, Gvertin, I repack the folder I made fom Spore_game.package into a different *.package, and what? Leave the new pakage in the directory and my game will recognize and use the new data?
I thought I was dealing with a packing issue. Could you please try to elaborate. And the english is forgiven.

Thanks for forgiven me for my bad english. Elaborate? Ok 1 Create a folder with your modname 2 copy all files you modify to this folder 3 pack it and name with modname.package 4 this modname.package must be in data folder 5 yes - game will read this file and this modname.package will works, i tested planet gen script, playopeningmovie and wireframe comands for mymod.package - they will work 100% (game replces game data with files in new packages) 6 .package files very easy to upload 7 good luck and maybe spore with you
But you can test your config files by replacing the names of it, for example if you use appproperties - you can just rename file to appproperties.txt and drag it to your config folder. But i see you dont test your mod first... this maybe not work. I tested many gameplay commands but it replaces with script in bnry files - for example Land vehicle cost dont work, and other commands too.

Awesome, thanks. Am in creature stage, so I can't test my space raid rates for awhile, but I will post if they work.

I'm a little concerned about the MinTime settings
do these affect how long the Attack/Raid lasts?
I notice that the Grox MinTime is 60, while playing the game the Grox attack times didn't last very long at all when defending a planet.
I hope changing these values doesn't end up with me having to defend against an attack that lasts 24 realtime hours :/
So, I just rename spore_game to something else and copy MY spore_game to the directory yes?

Well i just tested it with openinmovie as said but no go, it still doesn't read it and returns to normal values when running the game, tried it unpacked, using different name, replacing the original one, basicly tried all the options given but still no luck.

hm... they should work... you used only file SP-_CHT-024A0E52-00000000-8C47952D.txt with property playOpeningMovie (hash(playOpeningMovie)) bool false in special folder and pack mod.package in data folder? Then it MUST work. Or you can rename this file to appproperties.txt and drag it to config folder (of cource with playopening movie false).
