Mercenaries 2: World in Flames Message Board  

well my friend i just try step by step and no-go i save my game i when back to C:\Documents and Settings\Username and i am very dissapointed that this F^%$%#$#W%$#E%#%#$%#$#$CKER MADE AGAIN THE SAME FREAKING FOLDER SORRY FOR THE CAPITAL BUT I AM VERY ANGRY ABOUT THIS PIECE OF CRAP THAT DONT WANT TO SAVE MY GAME. sorry but when you say Change it to whatever do you mean all the path "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Mina dokument". or just my username thank again bro

i found it you guys explain it wrong all you have to say is change your username after the path C:\Documents and Settings\ to something else "example click start right click My Documents click Properties in the path change it to C:\Documents and Settings\steve\My Documents". and when it asked would you like to transfer it say yes. more simple like that dont you think. almost forgot dont forget to erase your old saving folder completely the game made it could messed up the new path you made just in case. edit: i know what was my problem its because when i right click my documents in the start menu my path was o.k. all my letters was fine there because its only a shortcut its when i go inside my C drive and my documents and setting this is where i could see the problem with my username duplicated with the non-english letter. so its not everyone that could see the problem with the non-english letter in the start menu.

Well, thankx to everyone, the game runs great on Vista.
And yes, my xp version was a localised Greek one so the language must've caused all the problems

hi, i have the same problem with corrupted saves. i was try to rename my Documents and Settings\... profile (old profile and new in english), i was try to change the default windows language from greek to Us english but nothing seems to happen. is there a way to change the path that the game place the saves (for example C:\Mercenaries 2 World in Flames\Saves...) that doesn't contain any non-english leter. thanx and sorry for my english

No, it's not possible to change where Merc2 saves its games. The only thing you can do, is changing the path to your My documents, or whatever it is named in your language. Alternatively, if the non-english letters are in your username, you could make a new user and play using that account.

If you bring up the start menu, right-click whatever My documents is named in your language, and chose properties, you'll see a path right on the first page, already selected. Could you copy it and paste it in a reply?

(And if My documents tells you nothing, it's the top icon in the right row, at least on XP)

Thanks friend but i think my windows are localised too. as for my documents path is C:\Documents and Settings\ME\Ôá ÝããñáöÜ ìïõ (username is me and it is in english letters,and Ôá ÝããñáöÜ ìïõ is My documents in greek) i try to rename at 8 letter english username it but nothing. sorry for my delay but hit by a virus and try to fix it. thanks for your time.
