What Jane is saying is that it would be easier to not go through a third party (moderator) in order to get your own thread(s) locked. It's easier being able to lock your own created thread(s).

I think members who make their own topic should be able to close their topics. Good idea?
Yes it is, near the topic name should be Lock and Unlock or just Lock (For Ever). That Members can lock it them self, when they want to lock, if mod or founder locks it, then member never can open it again. This IS good Idea.
And what's next? Those who create their own threads should be able to edit any post in that thread?
And after that? Who knows what.
What I'm saying is that those who are moderators are moderators and have the ability to lock, delete threads and so on and so forth. We are not moderators and should not have that ability.
