I just started playing about 2 weeks ago and am at the point where I just have too damn much to learn and too damn much to do. I was running errands for everyone and trying to join as many guilds that I could find, but I got tired of doing errands for other people (like real life) and just started exploring. The problem I have now, is that I'm not really sure what to do next. I'm a Dark Elf. Most of my attirbutes are near 60 with Major and Minor skills anywhere from 60 to 7. I find myself going back to places where I couldn't beat people before (underworks in vivec) and sometimes I can beat them, other times not. I stay away from the Ruins 'cause those guys smoke me quick.

I've been exploring these last few days (up to KHUUL and around those parts as part of some quest about my dreams and the Nevarrine cult).

Anyway, I'm just looking for some advice. Is there one guild I should focus on? I like to hack/slash but like the magic stuff too. I won't use cheats, but I would like a hint or two on what to do.

Anything to keep me from putting this game down. I like it, but am a bit overwhelmed with the possibilities.

Overwhelmed by possibilities? So was I once, and I just decided to pick one guild/house etc. and do exactly what I felt like doing.
Just remember there is no hurry in the game,that you have all the time in the world (at least in Morrowind-world)
Tip: have several characters with different directions of life. For ex. one darkelf joining one house and one or two guilds, then a Kajiit joining Morag Tong and another house, and so on

nice, i couldent have said it better...maybe..but why bother...and you could also try just killing people, or not killing anyone you dont need to. but thanks for the post natchRyaz,always nice to see other people helping.
