if you had 2 of the same piece of jewelry (enchanted). (1 real 1 duped) and 2 of the same scroll there is a weird glitch that sometimes happens
what happpens is if you wear one of the jewelry items, then use the dupe glitch on the unequiped duped item, it perma-effects the enchantment of that piece. so i'm guessing it was a jewelry he accidently activated this glitch my advice is to reload before you duped fingleam

You're right about the glitch inside of the glitch, but it's not a jewelry item, it's a plant, so when he duped it, it made that plant have the permanent effect of night-eye. And since you ate it with the permanent effect on, there's no way to get rid of it except for to load your game before you ate it. I hope you didn't save after, or you'll just have to live with it.
Or start over. That would suck.
