    TOP GEAR IS BACK!!!!!

Season 11 of Top Gear starts on BBC 2 on Sunday June 22nd at 8PM, or in my case, on my torrents a couple hours after

TV is finally worth watching again.

Anyways, these are some of the highlights of the new series:
    - Nissan GT-R vs. Bullet Train (can anyone say best race ever, I can)
    - Cheap Alfa Romeo Challenge, these are good no matter what cars they try to buy

It's been a while, but Top Gear is ready to snap, crackle and misfire its way back onto your telly screens on Sunday 22 June at 8pm on BBC Two. Hide the remote and set bear traps around the sofa, because this one's set to be a cracker.

In the first show of the new series, Jeremy, Richard and James dispense top tips on fuel consumption - who said they don't do proper consumer advice? - and The Stig gets back to what he does best: power testing Ferrari's awesome 430 Scuderia.

It's quicker around Maranello than the Enzo, so how will it do on the test track?

James introduces TG's newest team member, but don't worry, despite what the message boards are saying, the new character isn't replacing any of the presenters.

And the big film at the end of the show sees a new challenge being laid down for them; can they build better police cars than the real ones, while at the same time saving the taxpayers' money? They only get a thousand pounds, mind.

There's also a change to the regular Star in a Reasonably Priced Car format that sees the double team of the Sunday Night Project's Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr trying their best to be the, erm, best.

So get your cushions plumped up and your favourite mug at the ready - or at least set your Sky+ box - for the new series of Top Gear that kicks off at 8pm on Sunday June 22 on BBC Two.

I just finished watching Episode 1 of Top Gear Season 11. I started downloading it on Sunday at 5PM but the torrent was stupid slow, even though there were hundreds of seeds and over a thousand leechers.

Man, it was so awesome. Just can't wait for the next episode.

*looks at calender* Hmm, it's not Sunday yet is it? DAMN!!

I was watching an old episode of Top Gear on BBC America. The episode where they took the 70s British cars and torture-tested them.

I want to correct the producer's claim that British cars of the 1970s were bad.

What history tells us is that it was British workers that were bad in the 1970s.

Had the cars been built by workers who weren't striking every two weeks, they would have been built properly and wouldn't have such a poor reputation.

Having said that, it would be tough for any car from the 1970s to survive their tests. Especially the filling with water part.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

Japanese cars like the Datsun they compared it with would have no problem whatsoever. Even some German cars like a Mercedes or a BMW would have had no problem at all. It's all a question of quality.

    Also, Season 11 Episode 1 = win.

But the car becoming a swimming pool is not a question of quality because under no circumstances was a car designed with that in mind. You'll always get leaks around the door handles, where the door seals aren't touching just so and the various openings in the firewall and whatnot. It's just not a test of quality in any way. The producers just wanted to make it sensational and really had no care if they discovered car quality or not.

In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

True, there's no denying car manufacturers don't design a car on the basis of how well it would be as a mobile swimming pool. Maybe quality was the wrong word, well-built seems more appropriate. And the tanker-filling-the-car trick is actually a very good test to see how well-built it is because water will leak from the places where it's not.
