Is it just my soundcard, or are most scenes meant to be without speech? I can hear the background noise/music fine, but rarely any spoken words.

Ok, I’m now sure something wrong. I'm almost to the first 'official' assassination, and so far I’ve heard nothing story related, part of two overhear mission, one side of that basket weaver, and I’ve been thanked twice by saved citizens.
Now, the only think I want to know is if I’m alone with this, or if it is common.

why do you care anyway? this release is ****ed up dude. you'll not be able to go beyond the level when you need to go to jerusalem. the file is corrupted so this release is nuked beyond repair. the only way we can all play the game is that if someone will find a working and un-corrupted DataPC_Jerusalem.forge file. otherwise this release is absolutly dead.

If using Realtek High Definition Audio, Soundmax HD Audio, or nForce Audio, you may experience sound anomalies. To work around the problem, reduce the Hardware acceleration slider to ‘Basic’ in the Windows Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Audio tab -> Advanced -> Performance tab.

Right, uninstalling and removing the Soundmax card, and replacing it with a real soundcard solved the issue. And gave me a lot of sounds I’ve never noticed before, throughout both Windows and other games. Makes me wonder why that crap is even distributed...
