Ok I beat the game and Loved it by the way...I now find myself unable to return to the animus. I am stuck in the laboratory walking around using Eagle vision. Is there any way to return to playing the game or do I have to start a new game over?

ya use it in his room above his bed, it'll cause a cut scene and run the credits, after the credits you can keep playing

after i beat it i went back but it just wasnt the same

i hear you man, although sometimes it is fun to pwn the guards it gets old rather fast now...
