As owner of a real Supra, which is parked in my driveway as I type,I'm not all that interested in the history of Skyline, and what's the history lesson matter anyway? Skyline,GTR,G35...3 beautiful cars, and that's all that matters. But if G35 is actually Skyline,I am feeling terribly cheated.

"They are NOT skylines in Japan, they are Infiniti G35s. They are classified "Skyline" in North America. I would know because we used to have a "skyline" in America.

And jeez, I thought I was the only one who knew as to the real reason why Skylines are classified like they are... "

Lol, you have that soooo backwards.

There has NEVER been a Skyline, GT-R or otherwise sold in north america. The older (R32-R34) ones you see here have been privatly imported. The R35 marks the first time ever that the GT-R will be a Global brand. It is the first nissan ever to have a GT-R badge and a steering wheel on the left.

Infinti started as a marketing tool to sell high end nissans to the stupid americans. The G35 is not badged as a skyline here in north america. yes, you can buy Infinti G35's pretty much anywhere in the world at this point as they have branded out across the globe in the past couple years. But in japan you can go to the Nissan dealer and buy a V35 Skyline, in 2 or 4 dr and what you drive out with is a properly badged G35.

please don't question me on this anymore as the skyline has been my dream car for well over a decade and i've spent countless hours reading up on them.

    MK3 or MK4 supra?

Don't feel cheated about the Skyline/G35 thing. It basically boils down to status. Would you like the infiniti or nissan badge? cause they're the same car in every other respect.

i'd stil really like to get an R32 GT-R one day. they're getting really cheap to import now, but i'm still leary of driving on the wrong side of the car.

Mine is an MK4. Anyways,I'm not a fan of Infiniti. I prefer the Nissan badge. I wanted a Skyline, but I too would be leary about driving on the wrong side, and its not easy getting hold of a Skyline.

Yeah. It would be strange to change the driving side.

Someone told me you soon enough get used to driving on the wrong side. He owns a Skyline. I think I'll stick to driving the American way.

Nice, MK4's a sweet ride. You could always get the G35 and get the JDM badging for it.

One of the nice things about canada is that japanese imports only have to be 15yrs old to be street legal. Most of the R32's, S13 Silvia's, even MK4 Supra's are legal at this point and cheap too. You can get a GT-R for 10-20g's depending on condition, mods, etc. and the MK4's are way cheaper than what the go for up here, when you can find them.

But as stated, RHD has a bit of a learning curve not everyone would be comfortable with.

I'm not in the market for another car. I have 3 of them. If I were up for buying another it wouldn't be G35. I'd seriously consider a 3000GT. I have such a fondness for the 3000. 💛

As for Supra's being cheap...not where I live. Mine costed a big bundle of cash, but she came fully customized and in mint condition, with seriously amped performance, which is why I don't drive her a lot. Don't want to risk wrecking her or even scratching her.
