the best way i can explain it is to say its like a canvass that you can repaint..sorta...when downloading for example clothes or paintings some require a mesh for it to show up properly in the game, itll have a set shape and a person can draw over it to make it look however you want....you download the mesh and the new design to cover that mesh....thats the way i understand it from what i know but im sure someone else can explain it much better
