If I were to chose a race for the horde it would be a Troll Hunter because of their racial mixing with the attack speed bonus for the hunters if you chose BM.
Taurn Druids/Shamans with the massive health boost from the Taurns and the War Stop Gives them a huge advantage for when your between shocks as a Shaman and when your a druid allows you to heal between shifting.
Undead Warriors/Rogues because of of "will of the forsaken" For warriros this is perfect when your fighting bosses that have a fear ability. For Rogues this is also nice to prevent being feared IN pvp or bosses. The ability to canabilize makes sure you have less down time when leveling etc.
Mages- I would have to say Trolls & Blood Elves. Trolls for their racial of increased casting speed/Attack Speed. Blood Elves like wise.

I'd say my favorite is Night Elf Druid, just cause theyre like the best in all group situtations, like if a tank, dps or healer is unfindable/left or w/e, the druid can most likely replace it, and it's quite easy to get into a group on that. My 2nd favorite though is a Night Elf Rogue, just for the awesome DPS and Stealth, etc. I'm a fighter not a healer! =) (Therefore I guess the healer part is useless for me)
The beginning of WoW was when Arthas decided to kill people with a COOL SWORD AND GREAT ARMOR, but instead, he sits on his butt freezing on the ice, well lets face it hes gonna die one way or the other. Adventurers... or well. you guessed it.

Well, Since the beginning of WoW, I have had a chace to play a whole pile of characters, but I have personally found that Undead Warlocks(Aff. Spec FTW) are the best, both for PvP and PvE. They can DOT, fear, and attack, and almost nothing can withstand that in the PvP world. They do superior damage in the PvE world, and do some of the most damage I've ever reached in my WoW career.

Well really the best race is : There are no best races!
But there are some classes that mix very well into some races like=
Priests go with any race ... Il do same thing for alliance but some of em wont be as good as horde one (im more of a horde fan )
Human ==> Warrior Gnome ==> Rogue Dwarf ==> Hunter Dranei ==> Shaman Night Elf ==> Druid
