I really feel sorry for you for belivieng a film based on a children's comicbook written by man who works for polticians.the 300 movie is completely lie, it is only a imaginative fiction!let me first talk about movie itself then about the purpose of it.the covering of persians was incorrect.the persian soldiers cloth is not persian ,its Arabic!the clothing of the persian king was not like the one in the film ,this is the real cloth of him:Link
they tried to show persians as the violent african groups ! about the rings in the noses ,they just make (and made)us laugh how can we use them!!!
the most important and disgracing scene was the persian women scene , they weren't nude and lesbian like what you saw in the film ,persian women always were the most modest in the history
they even used to cover their hairs and they still do :Link Link .this made me very sad ,it was even an insult to me!
they showed persians violent and uncivilized ,this is when persians were calm people who tried to solve problems by peace!who is the most violent ,Iranians or Americans(who made this film)?didn't europeans attack to Indian Americans who were America natives?didn't they destroy their houses ,killed them and took them as slaves?diden't they do this to blacks too?!!!!!!
about the lie that calles ancient persians uncivilized ,i have to tell you ,when some europeans and Americans were living in caves and jungles and didn't know how to speak ,persians has arts ,sciense and civilization!just come to Iran and watch the artifacts and books written by ancient persian scientist.did you know the first series of laws were created by a persian king?

from the first Americas purpose was to ruin Iran and pervent Iranians from development.their latest effoert was to preventing Iran from having nuclear organizations ,they didn't manage to so they entered from another way :decieving people around the world by their media ,movies and stories.
people don't know anything from Iran history and USA is using this great opportunity .
We,Iranians aren't Greeks enemy nor any other nation.we even think greeks are better than other europeans in behaviour (i don't mean europeans are bad ,we like them too)

I know what i said won't affect you ,because your mind is filled with thoughs against Iran.maybe you hate me and think i'm a violent ,stupid human ,but i'm not!with posting this i wanted to tell you the truth ,even if you don't believe it .i can't allow US to insult to me and my country's history!soon or late you'll face the truth.

I don't agree totally with you... The basic idea is real (you know, Persia fight Greece), because it is based on history. On the other hand, the characters were totally science finction. I mean that Persians weren't as they show them (Immortals were like ninjas and Xerxes was like...you know... etc) so as Spartans (they were like supermans, etc). But this Hollywood, they try to make something exciting and fantastic.

You realise it's glamorised history right? Like Troy? There is also the fact it's based on a comic, just because the story is loosely based around a real event doesn't mean it's pretending to portray that event. Mighty Joe Young was based on a true story, but people aren't angry about the gorilla being portrayed as 30ft high are they?

A few of the glamorisations did make me chuckle though, such as the Spartans wearing no body armour .

You also claim that the film is propaganda to portray Iranians in a bad light. I guarantee you 90% of people don't know the connection between Persia and Iran, and 99.9999% of those wouldn't connect what they see in the film about ancient Persians to modern day Iranians. Plus as previously stated it's from a comic book, not government funded brainwashing.

Just like Drugs said...most of the people won't be able to connect the Persians to modern day Iranians.

As a matter of fact, the only connection between the two is that they stood on the same soil.

The Persians AND the Spartans in the film were PAGANS. I can't see why you are even offended.

What you did would be similar to me comparing the modern day Americans to the Native Americans.
