Star Wars: Empire at War Message Board  

I think I found a bug or else I am possibly a big dummy. Earlier in the game, Darth Vader died... Since nothing crazy happened, I thought either he might respawn later or it wasnt a big deal. Well now I am at the Princess Leia battle and when I try to take a fleet including a Imperial Star Destroyer there, DV comes on and says Im an idiot and its his battle and we need to use a Star Destroyer. So... A) Can I edit some XML file to make Darth reborn and B) which file. Otherwise, I am not sure how to get past this. Thanks.

No offense but if you think you have found a bug you should probably report it to Lucas Arts so they can fix it.
The main advice I'd offer is to start from before you lost Vader and keep him from being destroyed. But you probably can reduce the time that you have to wait before he comes around again. I'll see if I might be able to find something in the XML files, but Gideon probably knows so you might want to ask him .

Thanks for the info... This is kind of funny and frustrating at the sametime because I really cant get any further. I even got a bounty hunter onto the planet and "took over" the planet including building barracks, light factory, heavy factory, etc...and was able to build space station with upgrades...but its still that Red color and highlighted waiting for me to go tractor beam Leia... kind of funny, but I really cant get any further. :-)

Yeah, Im about to be like that. No way am I starting over. I have Battlefield 2 as well as the 4 additional SW games that came with the Best of PC pack... So I will see if Gideon or someone tells me how to resurrect a hero, but otherwise, I guess I am done. Sadly I didnt get to build the Deathstar. :-)

The only thing i could really suggest at this point if you don't want to start over is using some kind of memory searcher like CoSMOS and trying to use it to search for the value in ram that keeps track of the time left before he comes back. This of course is IF he will come back in that campaign. I'll tel you how to go about it if you care to go through all of this even with the chance that it might not work. Another Idea would be to manipulate the game files to give you an invincible Vader and an invincible Boba Fett by giving them mass amounts of hit points and shield power in addition to making their weapons really powerful, then just revert them to normal once you're done. I can also help you set this up.
But to go through the minimal amount of work necessary and not have to start over is talking to Gideon.
