About the dodging. That's what I usually do but I'm useless and always find myself spamming it. Does it take more than one shot for sword & shield or great swords to make it come off?

dude to tell you the truth its much harder whith a sword and shield than it is whith a G. sword so i would recommened the G. sword once you have picked out your sword try hitting the rathalos's tail again you should see results i think it takes 5-7 hits before you can hit it off. others may vary

If you keep attacking its head someparts of its head will brake off but you can't collect it. Same with its wing claws you keep hitting its wings and it will brake off. But only the tail can be carved
