Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Discussion
The first few have been taken off of my other help board, but people spammed it up, so I am making a new one.
If you want to request something, please do so in a PM, as I don't want this board cluttered up.
That said, I will be doing a lot of double/triple posting on this board, please don't complain.
Utapau: Sinkhole "ROTE"
Never, I mean NEVER leave the scene of a battle or objective. This is not a cheat, it is a hint. an extremely helpful hint. chances are, most of your units or reinforcements will die without you. the clones aren't that good and the droids are the superior faction. keep Obi-wan alive for as long as you can when you get him and use him to thin out the droids a little. After this switch to a clone commander. he is better than obi when facing Grevious. another thing, from the time you fight Grevious to the destruction of the anti-air turrets be a clone commander. you have a chaingun with unlimited ammo. Keep that thing firing but watch your heat meter. Don't let it overheat. If it overheats, switch to your blaster pistol, hide, and wait for the recharge. Send a recon droid out and detonate it close to the turret on the left. switch to a clone heave troop and finish the turrets with your rockets. After the anti-air turrets are destroyed, switch to the clone engineer. hop in the AT-RT and head to the energy pillar. this is easy except for one thing. The AATs. these tanks can kill you quick so avoid or kill them before you are destroyed. if needed, use speed and run away from the fight to heal yourself and your vehicle. For a more discreet and safer way to destroy the pillar, use the clone heavy trooper. go to the far platform near where you started the mission and begin to fire on the energy pillar. the AT-RTs will be down near the base of the pillar and they fire on the energy tower as well. after the pillar is destroyed, it is smooth sailing.
Always go for the frigate defenses first. Spawn a pilot and take a bomber to destroy the frigate defenses. Switch to a marine and when flying to the enemy capital ship for a solo assault use an interceptor (republic: republic starfighter, CIS: tri-fighter, Empire: TIE interceptor, Rebels: A-wing) I have been in a pilot seat long enough to be able to fly at full boost and come in the enemy hangar just above the surface. Land and jump out. your first target is the auto-defense mainframe. Launch rockets at it and keep yourself alive with your Blaster rifle. it helps if you can get an elite blaster rifle and a damage increase award, as you can kill and destroy faster with less ammo Back off to reload when the mainframe is destroyed. Next, run to the shield room and destroy it, replenishing ammo as necessary. destroy life support and then, sprint to the engine room and destroy it. if you get a break in the endless waves of enimies, use it to heal and replenish your ammo After all interior damage points are destroyed, sprint out and find a ship in the hangar to return to your capital ship. Replenish your health/ammo/stamina and switch to the pilot class. steal the superior bomber (clone wars: CIS strike bomber, and Galactic Civil war: tie bomber) Take out the bridge and the sensor relay to win the battle.
For the Death Star ground fight, as any faction, always take the room with the superlaser beam as soon as possible. place a mine or two on the wall just where the enemy comes out. if a squad of enimies comes out at the same time, the resulting explosion will kill most of the enimies and throw the living ones off the edge to a final messy landing. also, in the hangar, consider mining the slide-open door on the side nearest the CP. also, mine the floor on the sliding door whin it is open. the explosion from the floor mines will detonate the mines on the door that are hidden. if a squad of enimies is coming also consider placing a recon droid here to detonate the mines more effectively and cause more damage.
For the Kamino ground fight in RISE OF THE EMPIRE, immeadiately start out as Boba Fett. His blaster rifle, combined with a jetpack and detpack make a potent combo both in the air or on the ground. i have been able to fly directly onto the second gunship, land on it, and plant a detpack. while you are up here, watch out for sniper fire. plact a detpack and roll off, catching youself with a burst from a fully charged jetpack. hover in the air and tap the secondary fire button to detonate the explosive you placed.
Hoth: Echo Base "ROTE"
Here is a complete walkthrough for the RISE OF THE EMPIRE mission on Hoth, begin by spawning in as your personal best unit. Hop in an AT-AT and blast the out of the four turrets surrounding the first CP objective. Rush in as your personal best unit, and convert the CP to your side, healing as needed. if your other units follow, this is no problem. assemble a squad of units and storm the next objective, again, taking out the turrets from long range with heavy guns. after you capture it, switch to a Dark trooper, fly to an AT-AT and destroy the Sheild Generator. Jump out and use your incredible speed to rush the Hangar. after this, use Vader and keep him alive throughout the rest of the battle. after placing the transmitter, guard it with your life, hacking up rebel troops as necessary with your blade, NEVER throw your blade, as you cant block when you do this. run out the clock and then use Vader's extreme speed and short flight ability to flee. drop down and claim victory.
Tanitve IV: Interior "ROTE"
for the RISE OF THE EMPIRE mission on the Tantive IV, start out as a stormtrooper. after upgrading your most used weapons, you should play the rest of the mission defensively. running out and going wild with a blaster rifle will rarely work. use grenades as much as possible and try to bank them off walls and crates, and even other units. area effect weapons work well (rockets, grenades, autoturrets, recondroids) and you can use spread weapons like a shotgun. when a squad of enemies come, take cover behind a crate or corner and use explosives assuming you have some. the objectives are fairly easy to complete if you stay low and discreet. when you have Vader, it is time to go wild. slice and dice all enimies that produce a valid threat to keep your timer up. do all objectives as Vader if possible then go and kill Leia to complete the mission.
for any kashyyyk mission, never rush straight across the lake. Chances are, you will get picked off by enemy snipers before you can reach the other side. but if you lie in wait on the high platform as CIS or the wall as Republic you can rack up alot of kills and if you get six headshots you can unlock the beam rifle and get another medal. this is a good level for demolition award, as there are many vehicles. But when you are defendeng (rebels or republic) if the door gets destroyed repair it as soon as possible. This stops enemy vehicles from entering the base and gives you rforces a chance to regroup. Placing autoturrets in the doorway is a good strategy, as it clogs up the path and kills alot of enemy units in the process.

Hero Detail: Darth Maul
Hold the R1 button after the last swing of the blade in a combo to force a fourth and fifth hit with the blade. This can save your life in groups of enemies. It works well, but be careful when allies are near as the swing is 360 degrees.
Weapon Detail: Award Sniper Rifle
This weapon is very hard to use if you try to truly snipe with it. for the best bet, aim just beow the neck, about three game-inches abouve center mass. this is the best place for a kill. If you hit center mass, you must make sure that the full beam hits. Otherwise, 30% of your target's health will remain.
