Rome: Total War Message Board  

To get the cheat patch to work:

go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download the .NET Framework in order to work properly
go to www.gamecopyworld.com then find "Rome: Total War" and download the "No-CD/Fixed" for Version 1.0 or 1.1
search for winrar and download a copy of that. then download the cheat patch at www.forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=38671
(they have a link there to download it) then go to start-my computer-local disk-program files-actiavision- rome total war.
then you get a list of all files/applications of RTW. find the one with the RTW icon and rename it " RomeTW.exe Old"
and then transfer the "No-Cd" application and drag it to the RTW file. then open the RTW cheat patch file and double click on the cheat patch application then a little box appears. click "Patch" it sould say
"Finding relavent patch"
"Backing up old file"
"applying patch"
"Patc succsesful !!!"
then play game!!!!
This disables the once per game use and unlocks all cheats avalible (for complete list view "CheatList" in the cheat patch folder)
PS- Only works for Version 1.0 or 1.1 hope this helped



For "crate_unit" cheat
go to start-my computer-local disk-proram files-actavision-rome total war-data- export_descr_buildings.txt (this is a full list of each units name ex: "roman praetorian cohort urban i" means urban cohort) but at the campain map press "`" button to bring down "RomeSell" (the cheat consoule) then type exactly like this:


the ****=city %%%%=unit ^^^^=charecter

create_unit **** "%%%%" 5999
create_unit "^^^^" "%%%%" 5999


some examples are:

create_unit Rome "roman praetorian cavalry" 5999
create_unit Rome "roman arcani" 5999
create_unit Rome "roman archer auxillia" 5999
create_unit "Aulus Brutus" "roman praetorian cohort urban i" 5999

create_unit "Admiral Nero" "naval quinquireme" 5999
(might be quinquiremes)

create_unit Carhtage "carthaginian heavy infantry" 5999

there is only a few of the hundreds
the rest is for you

when creating units with the Create_unit cheat and making them in an army with a leader then don't you need a _ in between the first and last name? EX. Flavius_Julius just like for the towns EX. Narbo_Martius 🤔

for my version (1.0) to get the cheat patch to work i typed the charecter like this:

create_unit "Aulus Brutus" "roman archer auxillia" 5999


and it worked just fine. is that what your asking??

i tried it and it doesn't work with the _ between the names
"Marcus Julius" works
"Marcus_Julius" doesn't work

so what are you asking??? 🤔
