every time u beat staryu with ember u will get exp points and u will be stronger thats what happen with me but i beat her by burning starme u need to have six pokemons in your party and when starme still burning keep changing pokemons then its HP wil going lower then bring charmileon again and smash her yeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh

I dont think your gonna do too well with JUST Charmeleon. Unless you get a butterfree and teach it sleep powder (learns it at level 15) then just switch to charmeleon after using sleep powder. Or if you caught a pikachu in Veridian Forest, it could be a big help in defeating Misty.
If you have all 3 pokemon, then that'd be even better.
