I just got a nintendo DS and am playing pokemon emerald. Apperently i have recieved CUT and FLASH but i cannot find them ANYWHERE and i've been in many situations where they would be kinda helpful. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me how to use these things or where to find them or something, anything...as you can see im a bit desperate
you need to have your pokemon learn the moves before you can use them and you need to have certain badges to use them also but to get your pokemon to learn the moves go into the menu, go into your bag, go to tm's and hm's, find the hm you want to use, it will ask if you want to teach this move to a pokemon, select yes and hopefully you have a pokemon that is able to use the hm, hope this helps

heres the problem tho, none of the HM's show up....like she told me i got CUT the ability to cut down trees outside of battles bla bla bla...but i go to my bag i dont see it, i press select i dont see it, i got to ash i dont see it. IM LOOKING EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!! Its like it doesnt exist! what am i doing wrong? do u have to press certain buttons to cut down a tree? is there sumthing wrong with my game? Why cant i find it!?! im so confused!!
if a pokemon already has learned the move cut than all you need to do is go up to a tree that is able to be cut down and push tha A buttonthen it should ask if you want that tree to be cut then pick yes and are you pushing left or right in your bag to get to the other pockets

okay thank you so much, i have a feeling there is somethihng wrong with my game because i learned CUT and every time i go up to a tree it just says "hmmmm...looks like this could be cut down." and then i scream .
have u got the hm1 from the carpenter in rustboro and the hm5 in granite cave?
as i say u do not need flash and cut to complete the game all cut does is give you some extra berries, tms ,items and shortcuts. and flash just expands your view (in two caves) by a tiny little bit
